Ultion locks for complete peace of mind
Ultion locks are some of the most secure around. Not only have they passed all major British Standards tests for security, they also comply with the highest TS007 standard and have a top three-star rating.
So what is it that makes Ultion locks so special?
The moment Ultion locks detect a forced entry, they switch into lockdown mode. The deep, solid core isn’t easy to tamper with, giving thieves a seriously reduced chance of being able to enter your property.
Ultion’s high security features
Ultion locks are designed to protect against even the most sophisticated of methods used by thieves to enter your home. They have been proved to guard against:
- Lock snapping
- Lock drilling
- Lock bumping
- Lock picking
Not only this, they have been designed and approved by experts, so you know they are always going to be up to the job.
Anti-snap locks
Locks fitted to uPVC and composite doors are most vulnerable to lock snapping. The lock inside is known as a Euro cylinder, and is mainly made of brass. This is a soft metal that tends to be used because it doesn’t corrode, meaning it will last a long time with very little maintenance.
However, with some simple tools and a little knowledge, it is possible to snap the cylinder in half. Once the exterior is removed, it’s possible to gain access to the locking part of the multi-point lock, making it easy for the door to be opened.
Preventing lock snapping
The good news is that it is possible to fit anti-snap locks, which are designed so this weakness cannot be exploited. They are also cost effective. Anti-snap locks are high security euro lock cylinders that are designed and tested to protect against lock snapping stopping a thief from breaking the lock into two parts. This type of cylinder is usually found on uPVC doors.
What door typed are Anti-snap locks fitted on?
As well the standard front door on your home, Anti-snap locks can also be installed on other types of doors such as:
- Front, back and side doors
- Patio doors
- Wooden & composite
- uPVC (most common)
- Aluminium doors
